Superior First Class
Channings
Hotel (Edinburgh). This four star boutique hotel lies on a peaceful
cobbled street, overlooking tranquil gardens and just a few minutes
walk from the city center and it's historical sites. Considerable
flair and thought has gone into creating Channings, a stylish transformation
of five Edwardian town houses, which has had many of its original
features restored. With restful fire-lit lounges and it's renowned
character and charm, Channings offers a cozy relaxed ambience, reminiscent
of a country house hotel in town. The warm and richly colored Brasserie
with its superb Edwardian features is in direct contrast with their
contemporary, simple and uncluttered wine bar and conservatory.

perfect for enjoying the sites of Scotland's most historic city.

Firth of Forth. Family owned Greywalls retains the atmosphere of
a private house, which shows in the spacious, airy bedrooms and
the wood paneled library with its open fire. The bar is cozy and
the sun room a delight. The acclaimed restaurant serves modern British
cooking with classical influence and local produce. The cool green
dining room overlooks Muirfield Golf Course.

Balmoral
Hotel (Edinburgh). Located at Number One Princes Street, on
the city's main shopping thoroughfare, the five-star Balmoral is
only a short walk from Edinburgh Castle, Scotland's national monuments,
museums and galleries and the new Scottish Parliament. First opened
in 1902 in the tradition of the great railway hotels, The Balmoral
was designed only after its architects had undertaken an extensive
tour of every great hotel in Europe. The style and appearance of
The Balmoral's bedrooms and public rooms have been carefully designed
to complement the historical elegance of the Edwardian architecture
and the lavish and extravagant public rooms, which created a sensation
when the hotel was opened. The famous Palm Court with its magnificent
glass dome and the Sir Walter Scott grand ballroom with its breathtaking
views of Princes Street and Edinburgh Castle, have been deliberately
decorated to evoke the timeless comfort and security so typical
of the Edwardian era.
